Mara H. Lane M.S.,CCC/SLP, Founder and Director of Comprehensive SLP LLC, is a Speech Language Pathologist with extensive experience providing individualized, intensive treatment to children that have been diagnosed with Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Non-Verbal Language Disorders, Delayed Language, Phonological and Articulation Disorders, Central Auditory Processing Disorders, Language Processing Disorders, and Hearing Impairment/Deafness with the goal of helping them to achieve their communicative and language/learning potential.

Ms. Lane’s private practice provides Speech and Language Diagnostic Evaluations, Speech and Language therapy, Social Pragmatic Language Group therapy, Fast ForWord Language Learning Curriculum, consultation services and in-service workshops to school districts in the Chicagoland area.

Working collaboratively with your child’s school based support team is an important component toward their progress.  Ms. Lane provides case management services that coordinates treatment between private providers and the school team in preparation for as well as follow up to IEP meetings.

Ms. Lane is a licensed Teacher of the Deaf and Hearing Impaired.  In addition to functioning as a classroom teacher in that capacity — in both a total communication and oral model — she continues to provide Speech and Language Therapy to children with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, unilateral hearing loss and cochlear implants.

In addition to her private practice, Ms. Lane is the Director of Camp One In A Hundred Inc., a clinically based social pragmatic summer program for students who have challenges in social communication abilities resulting from Asperger’s Syndrome, PDD-NOS, High-Functioning Autism, ADD/ADHD, Non-Verbal Learning Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders.

Ms. Lane is currently on the Executive Board of the North Suburban Speech and Language Association, a local group of theIllinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and serves on the executive board and grant committee of The Special Kids Foundation, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support organizations that treat, educate or foster inclusion for children with developmental disabilities.

Ms. Lane is also an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University School of Communications.

Ms. Lane is fluent in American Sign Language and Signed English.

Ms. Lane received her graduate and undergraduate degrees from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York.
