As a licensed clinical social worker, Jackie brings to Comprehensive Speech and Language Pathology her experience working with children and teens who have diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Emotional and Behavioral Disorders, and other impairments impacting school and social performance. Jackie currently works as a school social worker at a linguistically and culturally diverse junior high in Des Plaines. There, she counsels individuals and groups, teaches classroom-based lessons, connects families and students to community services, serves on multi-disciplinary teams, communicates and collaborates with parents, teachers and outside providers, collects and analyzes data, provides crisis intervention, and conducts social developmental assessments. She has also sponsored and led a variety of extracurriculars and clubs for students to practice their social skills, make connections with peers, and foster a sense of belonging.
Jackie earned her Bachelors in Social Work from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014. She graduated with her Masters in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2015. In 2019, she completed a graduate certificate program in Trauma-Informed Counseling through Northern Illinois University.
