Summer Boot Camp for Written Language
Within a dynamic small group setting, students will develop improved written language skills using a multi-sensory language based approach. Drama techniques such as improvising, role playing and video modeling will facilitate an exciting and collaborative atmosphere in order for the children to develop their own script.
The students will design their own sets and costumes, while incorporating cooperative social language skills (i.e. cooperation, perspective taking, negotiation) and learning to work productively in a small group setting with their peers.
This boot camp will take place over a three week period for two hours per day. A certified and licensed speech and language pathologist will co-facilitate this intensive written language therapy program.
Two three week sessions are being offered with dates and time individualized based on student availability:
Boot Camp groups are formed according to chronological age and grade.

Within an age and skill appropriate small group setting, students will develop improved executive functioning skills as well as practice social and language skills using a multi-sensory language based approach. Each week there will be a different menu item that the students will work together to create which will be compiled into a recipe book to share at home!
Each week, students will work together to read and follow the directions of a recipe. During this activity, students will practice executive functioning skills such as task initiation, planning and prioritizing, and organization.
Lunch is one of the most social times of a student’s day but also the most difficult for some. Throughout the lunch bunch, students’ socialization will be facilitated and supported. They will practice flexible thinking, perspective taking, asking each other questions, and more.
This lunch bunch will take place each week throughout the summer, one hour a week. Each session is $130.00. A certified and licensed speech and language pathologist will facilitate this fun, socially engaging language activity.
Weekly lunchtime sessions are being offered with dates and time individualized based on student availability.
