Sheri Bassewitz, MSW, LCSW, having worked as a licensed clinical social worker at a suburban school district, is pleased to be joining the clinical staff at Comprehensive Speech and Language Pathology LLC. As an integral member of the school’s special education programs as well as the district’s inclusion program, Sheri worked closely with special education staff, regular education teachers, parents, and the student’s private support team. Sheri is a “hands on” and experienced licensed clinical social worker who through direct intervention has helped children with diagnoses of autism, attention deficit disorders, language based learning disabilities, intellectual challenges, anxiety, depression and social/emotional deficits.
Sheri received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Irvine and her Master’s Degree in social work from Loyola University in Chicago. Additionally, Sheri has worked in hospice, oncology and home care for seventeen years and then returned to Loyola University to complete studies for her school certification. Sheri has attended numerous training seminars and workshops in the area of social pragmatics and social communication as well as other social emotional deficits.
This past summer Sheri joined the staff at Camp One in a Hundred Summer Program, providing support, counseling and interventions to campers with significant social pragmatic and social emotional disabilities.
